We happened to wander to this spot as it was near the airport where we were staying. Hands down the best Kabob platter.. we ate dinner at 6:30pm and were plotting to come back for seconds by 8:30 coz the food and service was so nice!Would definitely visit if I'm in Calgary again!

We had a flight to Toronto last night and unfortunately it was cancelled. Airplane company gave us a hotel voucher near Calgary airport. Today me and my friend walked to the plaza where Taj Kobab is located.I have been to more than 30 doner and kebab restaurants in Toronto. I must admit, I have never tried such good kebab before, even in GTA. Today I ordered beef watani kebab. Meat was fresh and soft.The spice of the rice was amazing. I've never tried the sauce on cabbage anywhere before.You should definitely go here.

Super filling, delicious, and flavourful Afghan food. This was my first time dining in at Taj Kabob and I really enjoyed it.Tried the tandoori bowl, lamb kabob bowl, chaplee kabob, lamb shank Qabuli, and mantu.The kabobs were cooked perfectly and the grilled tomatoes and onions complemented the dishes very well.Chaplee kabob was great (the one that’s shaped like a patty) and was more spicy than the other dishes but a welcome change in flavour.The lamb shank was delicious but it wasn’t as soft as it should have been. Qabuli was great though.Highly recommend Taj Kabob and the owners are so amazing!

Absolutely incredible food.Lamb was fantastic with a good quantity.A great portion size of rice.Not too much salad.Mango smoothie was on the smaller size but was still really enjoyable.The next time I am in Calgary I will definitely try to get lunch here again.

Fun new place to try in the city! We ordered the beef watani kabob bowl, beyond meat kabob bowl, veggie ashak, and street fries. The kabob bowls were good, nothing amazing, and the fries were bland. The ashak however, was very delicious. Definitely worth trying at least once.

HAVE THE LAMB SHANK!! Hidden gem with incredible home cooked food. Owner operated independent restaurant. Absolutely fair pricing and large servings. Owner told us the lamb shank was slow cooked for 24 hours. It literally fell off the bone and into my mouth. So full of flavour. It came with a large serving of rice and salad. My wife had the chicken kabob and also raves about the incredible flavour, soft bread and tender chicken. Start the car and get to this place.

Yesterday I ordered Taj Kabob for first time on skip. Afghan street food I've never tried before. It was actually so good. I had the platter with 3 skewers . 3 different kinds of meat .the spicy chutney was amazing and samosas. I was in the area and had to go back today. I got the chicken wrap combo . Also really good and the fries are really good as well. Give them a try I'll forsure start to frequent here specially when it's so close to home.

Taj Kabob - Afghan Street Food
My wife brought me here. She loves the food - gives it 5 stars. Honestly, I don't know I've ever had Afghan food so I don't have much to compare it to but it did taste good! I'd probably give it 4 stars but between the two of us it rounds up I guess :)
